Our regular sunday evening Jazz performances, have become a popular feature of the restaurant with some of the best young musicians currently playing in London. You can book a table in the restaurant or just hang out in the bar.
12th of Feb – Juliet Kelly
Juliet’s sound perfectly encapsulates the glamour of the jazz divas of a bygone age with a modern, sassy twist. It’s been described as a cross between Grace Jones and Peggy Lee with a hint of Amy Winehouse.
19th of Feb – Zara McFarlane
The wonderfully unique sounds of Zara McFarlane include a sensual tone and vocal command that can improvise fluently and gracefully across many musical styles yet dominates the sound of jazz. She has performed and/or recorded with musical luminaries Soweto Kinch, Omar Puente, Hugh Masekela, Orphy Robinson, Guy Barker. She has performed in the Germany, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, Sarajevo, Spain and all over the UK, in venues such as Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican and the Royal Albert Hall.
26th of Feb – Latinissimo with Daniel Barda and Lisa Del Mar (Paris)
Accompanied by Daniel, a multi-instrumentalist, leader of Paris Orchestra, founder of the internationally-acclaimed New Orleans Quartet “Paris Washboard”, Lisa Del Mar takes you on a musical journey across Spain and Latin America, singing well-known tunes as well as her own compositions and beloved rhythms of the Caribbean…waltzes, tangos, boleros, bossa novas…
4th of March – Jonathan Gee Duo
Pianist Gee has an incisive improvisatory style and is capable of packing a wealth of rhythmic and harmonic ideas into a single phrase. Here he leads a dynamic, intelligent contemporary jazz duo playing his originals and standards.
11th of March – Emma Smith
Having already shared the stage with the likes of Dame Cleo Laine, the late Sir John Dankworth and ‘BBC Jazz Vocalist of the Year’ winners Liane Carroll and Ian Shaw, twenty year old Emma Smith is well on her way to her achieving her dream of being an accomplished jazz singer. At 16, Emma’s reputation as up-and-coming talent led her to become increasingly in demand.
18th of March – Kristian Borring Duo
Highly skilled and determined guitarist and composer. Born in Denmark and resided for the past 5 years in central London and before that, 4 years in The Netherlands. He works and have worked with a great variety of performers in different genres, including Karen David, The Puppini Sisters, Christine Tobin, Pete Wareham, Will Vinson, Laurence Cottle, Tommaso Starace, Dekata Project, Jiddish Twist Orchestra, Monika Lidke, as well as many upcoming artists.
